This lovely coat was made from a black knitted boucle yarn in the late 1940s. It is cut in the style of a long trapeze coat with a small shawl collar leading to two fabric covered buttons. The flared skirt falls in beautiful large pleats which add movement to the piece. Inside, the coat is unlined and without maker’s labels.

 

Bust: 36”-44” due to stretch in the fabric 

Length: 36”

 

The coat is in very good condition with only a few inconsistencies in the knit and a little fraying to one of the button loops.
