Stunning Original Vintage 1930s 30s Blue Hand Printed Dress Set With Bolero Jacket
This incredible dress set was made from a starched blue cotton in the late 1930s. The textile has been delicately hand printed with white spade motives. On the dress this motive has been cleverly used to emphasise the shape of the garment through the use of a chevron pattern at the bust, which elongates the bodice. The front of the skirt features large inverted pleats which have been left unprinted, highlighting the pleats and giving movement to the skirt. The dress has been cut in a classic late 1930s silhouette with beautiful puff sleeves and a nipped waist which can be cinched in with the matching fabric belt. Delicate shirring decorated the shoulder line and draws attention to the classic V neckline. The dress fastens with an original metal side zipper and is unlined inside.
The matching jacket has been cut in a flattering cropped bolero style. It features the spade print throughout and has wonderful fathered shoulders with three quarter length sleeves.
