Stunning Original Late 1930s / Early 1940s Vintage Pale Pink And Navy Blue Shooting Star Dress
This stunning dress was made from crepe in the late 1930s / early 1940s. It was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The dress was designed to look like a two piece with a pale pink top and a blue skirt. The top features the most wonderful shooting star novelty print and gorgeous puff sleeves which have been highlighted through shirring at the shoulders. The collarless neckline creates a beautiful wrap over bust, which falls in a blousy style to the fitted waist yolk. An attached fabric belt ties at the back to cinch in the waist and a small peplum falls from the waist seam. The blue skirt section has been cut in a gentle A line to add movement. The dress slides on over the head and has no openings.

Length: 43” plus 1” hem
The dress is in fair condition with a number of areas of discolouration and fading as well as some grazes, pinholes and a patched repair at the waist as pictured.
