Stunning Original Late 1930s / Early 1940s Mustard Yellow Dress With Puff Sleeves And Lace Peplum
This stunning dress was made from a mustard yellow coloured crepe in the late 1930s / early 1940s. The dress featured a small collar that leads to a shallow V neckline. The tops of the sleeves are beautifully gathered and lightly padded to create the stunning puff sleeves shape we have come to expect from early wartime clothing. The cuffs of the puff sleeves have been trimmed with beautiful open work lace, which was also used to decorate the edge of the peplum running from the waist to skim the wearer’s hips. The dress also features gorgeous shirring at the top of the bodice which adds shape the the wearer’s bust. It fastens with a long original metal side zipper part of which is cleverly hidden below the peplum which attached with poppers at the waist.
