Stunning Original Early 1930s Brown Crepe NRA Dress With Gold Lamé Edged Collar And Bishop Sleeves
This incredible dress was made from chocolate brown crepe in the early 1930s. It was cut in the classic silhouette of the period, skimming the wearer’s body to let the exceptional tailoring shine. The oversized collar has been trimmed with four rows of gold lamé embellished soutache work which adds a strong design statement to the piece. Beautiful bishop sleeves fall with wonderful volume before slimming elegantly into elongated cuffs. A triangular waist yolk cleverly highlights the wearer’s waist without being tightly fitted and two long gores run down the front of the dress before opening into inverted pleats near the hem. The dress fastens with poppers at the side (which has been sewn closed but could easily be reopened) and has the rare and collectible NRA label.
