Stunning Original 1940s Vintage Deep Rust Red Skirt Suit
This stunning skirt suit was made in the 1940s from rust red wool. It was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with structured shoulders and a nipped waist. The notched lapel collar leads to two groups of three black buttons that fasten the blazer. Three pockets at the waist and hips mirror this arrangement of threes and give a hint to the classic masculine tailoring of the wartime era. Inside, the jacket is lined in black crepe and has a maker’s label for Leclux. The matching skirt was cut in a straight line and fastens with an original metal side zipper and hook closure above.
