Stunning Original 1940s Volup Vintage Cream Gabardine Forstmann Swing Coat With Triangular Pockets
This stunning coat was made from sand coloured wool gabardine in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic swing silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The small collar was adorned with top stitch detailing and leads to a single row of three fabric covered buttons which fasten the coat at the bust. Matching buttons adorn the triangular flaps of the large statement pockets and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. Inside, the coat is lined in chocolate brown crepe and has a maker’s label for Forstmann, a retailer’s mark for Bernard‘s and a National Recovery Board tag.
Bust: up to 44”
Shoulders: 16 1/2” seam to seam
Length: 28”
The coat is in very good condition with only a few barely noticeable marks as pictured.
