Stunning Original 1940s 40s Vintage Red Wool Swing Jacket Coat With Navy Accents
This stunning swing coat was made from lipstick red wool in the 1940s. It was cut with strong padded shoulders from which the coat falls loosely to a short hip skimming length. The shoulders have been slightly gathered abs the sleeves finish in turn up cuffs. The sharp collar leads to six beautiful fabric covered buttons which fasten the jacket in a double breasted configuration. The buttons are just exquisite, red with a navy blue centre, except the topmost button where the colours have been intentionally reversed. The buttonholes and the functional slit pockets have been trimmed in contrasting navy. At the back, the horizontal shoulder seam further enhances the strong shoulder line and the hem is decorated with three fabulous buttons on each side. Inside, the coat is lined in navy satin and has a National Recovery Board label.
Shoulders: 16” seam to seam
The coat is in very good condition with only a few small barely noticeable marks as pictured.
