Original Vintage Late 1940s 40s Tweed Storm Coat With Faux Fur Collar
This winter weight coat was made from a good quality wool tweed in the late 1940s. The tweed is white and brown with flecks of red, yellow and blue. The coat is cut in a double breasted style with two rows of three large brown buttons down the front. The coat boasts a brown faux fur collar as well as a thick lining of brushed wool to keep you cosy. A set of huge padded shoulders helps to complete the 1940s winter look along with storm tab cuffs. At the waist this coat has two functional slit pockets with decorative flaps. Inside, the coat retains its original National Recovery Board Label, but is without a makers label.
Shoulders: 17” seam to seam
Bust: 42”
Length: 45”
The coat is in good condition, however there is some faint staining and it would probably benefit from a dry clean. There is also wear to some of the backs of the button holes and around the corners of the pockets and a button is missing from one of the storm cuffs as pictured.
