Original Vintage 1950s 50s Black Taffeta Skirt With Embroidered Straw Flowers

This lovely skirt has been made from black satin in the 1950s. It is cut in a classic full early 1950s silhouette given it lovely movement when dancing. The skirt is adorned with panels of netting onto which straw flowers dyed in the various colours have been embroidered. The edges of these panels are surrounded with black straw edging. The garment has an inbuilt taffeta underskirt which helps to give volume and the skirt is fastened using a metal side zipper with top button.

Length: 29 1/4” plus 2” hem

Hem Circumference: 119”

The skirt is in good condition, however it has some damage to the netting in several areas, which could be stabilised by backing with fabric.
