Original Vintage 1940s 40s Red Green And Blue Tweed Suit With Velvet Collar By Ardmoor
This fabulous suit was made in the 1940s from a beautiful wool tweed in shades of red, green and blue, giving it a purple appearance from a distance. It has been cut in a classic 1940s silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The squared collar and the large pocket flaps have been highlighted with sumptuous black velvet. The jacket fastens with a single row of five black and gold buttons and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves. Inside, the jacket is lined in faille and has a maker’s label for Ardmoor of New York. The matching skirt has been cut to a lovely longer length and fastens with a metal side zipper and button closure above.
