Original Vintage 1940s 40s Dark Navy Blue Skirt Suit With Geometric Details

This amazing suit was made from a deep navy gabardine in the 1940s. Its super strong padded shoulders and nipped waist give the suit a classic 1940s silhouette. The collarless cut further emphasises the strong shoulder line and highlights the geometric detailing on the jacket. This subtle detail extends from the shoulders down the placket to the waist in a stepped design, which is achieved by cleverly piecing in matching fabric cut across the grain to create a different effect when the light hits the fabric. Three faceted glass buttons run down the centre of the jacket and these are also used to decorate the faux pockets flaps. Small turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves nicely and the jacket is lined in black crepe. The skirt is cut in a classic straight style and closes with its original metal side zipper and a button above.

The suit is in very good condition however there is some discolouration and a few tears to the lining as pictured.
