Original Vintage 1940s 40s Forest Green Gabardine Skirt Suit With Amazing Double Collar And Button Details
This fabulous skirt suit was made from forest green gabardine in the 1940s. It is cut in the classic 1940s hourglass silhouette with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The huge double collar with decorative stitching around the edge adds a great design detail. A single row of five fabric covered buttons with stitch detailing rubs from the collar to the waist and there are functional pockets at the waist which also feature fabric covered button decoration on the sides. The tailoring on this piece is simply divine! Inside, the jacket is lined in brown crepe and has a maker’s label for Freiss Original and a retailer’s label for the Grand Milwaukee. The matching skirt has been adorned with three fabric covered buttons on each side near the hem and fastens with an original metal side zipper and button closure above.
