Original Vintage 1940s 40s Brown Gabardine Double Breasted Princess Coat
This fabulous coat was made from grown gabardine in the 1940s. It is cut in a classic 1940s princess coat style with padded shoulders, a tightly nipped waist and a flared skirt. The small asymmetric shawl collar leads to two lines of four fabric covered buttons which fasten the coat in a double breasted style. Beautiful princess seaming gives shape to the back of the garment, turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves and slip pockets at the hip add a functional feature. Inside, the coat is lined in brown crepe and has a maker’s label for Best Co of Fifth Avenue, New York.
