Original Vintage 1940s 40s Brown Gabardine Suit With Arrow Details
This stunning skirt suit was made from chocolate brown gabardine in the 1940s. The suit was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the decade with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. This suit features some fabulous details such as the unusual notched collar, which has been adorned with embroidered arrows. Matching arrowhead embroidery also decorates the sweeping slit pockets at the hips. Inside, the blazer is lined in brown crepe and has a maker’s label for L.S. Ayers & Co as well as the Forstmann wool label, a tag for Morris Hock and the National Recovery Board label. The matching skirt is cut in a gentle A line and fastens with an original metal side zipper and a button closure above.
