Original Vintage 1940s 40s Black Wool Suit With Geometric Seams And Shirring
This wonderful skirt suit was made from a good quality black wool in the 1940s. The suit boasts a classic 1940s hourglass silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The jacket has interesting geometric seams across the bodice, which are highlighted using shirring under the seam. A shallow point of the v-neckline is the starting point for a line of three round buttons with patterned edges. At the waist there is another seam line which marks the top of some concealed pockets. The back of the jacket has a single vent down the centre starting at the bottom of the neckline down to the waist. Inside, the jacket is lined in black crepe and has a National Recovery Board label. The skirt was made from a matching black wool, it has large black patch pockets to the front and a metal side zipper with double top hooks and loops.
