Original Victorian Vintage Black Satin Fall Front Livery Breeches Trousers
These trousers were made from a a beautifully soft black satin in the Victorian era. They are cut in the style of livery breeches with a fall front that is held up using three buttons. Below the fall front, the breeches fasten with four buttons, two of which are visible and the other two hidden behind the print panel. There are further buttons along the waistband and a tie string at the back of the waist. The bottom of the three quarter length legs is adorned with four decorative buttons and a buckle on each leg.
Outside leg length: 30 1/2”
The breeches are in very good condition, however some of the buttons have been replaced over the years and these are mismatched. We think this piece may have been used in a theatre production when the drawstring was added for flexibility of fit.
