Original Late 1940s 40s Vintage Summer Suit By Julius Garfinckel
This gorgeous summer suit was made from a peachy cream silk faille in the late 1940s. It is cut with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The notched lapel collar leads to a single row of four buttons. The same buttons have been used to decorate the western style mock pockets at the bust. The waist is further emphasised with darting both at the front and the back of the jacket. Inside, the jacket is unlined in line with its lightweight nature, however the sleeves are lined for comfort. The jacket has a maker’s label for Davidow, a retailers label for Julius Garfinckel & Co as well as the National Recovery Board tag. The matching skirt features beautiful goring, which opens up into two large inverted pleats at each side of the front. It fastens with a metal side zipper and press stud closure above.
