This fabulous suit was made in the late 1940s from wool in a pale pink, grey and cream micro check pattern. It consists of a cropped open fronted jacket and a matching pencil skirt. The jacket has a notched lapel collar, faux pockets and a button at the neckline. The cuffs can be worn down or turned up to reveal a glimpse of the contrasting blue lining and the shoulder seams feature an interesting geometric design. Inside, the jacket is lined in blue acetate and features the maker’s label for Solmar Inc. The skirt is absolutely incredible and features a large double width waistband and huge functional pockets with triangular pocket flaps. A large inverted pleat runs down the front of the skirt and it fastens with an original metal side zipper and double button closure above.

The suit is in good condition with only a few darns and a faint mark as pictured.
