Original Late 1930s Early 1940s Cream Wool Double Breasted Princess Cut Coat With Black Velvet Collar And Cuffs
This wonderful coat was made between the late 1930s and the early 1940s from a cream coloured wool. The coat is cut in a classic double breasted princess style with fabulous padded shoulders combined with a nipped waist. Two rows of five black glass buttons with a weave pattern run from the shoulder to waist. A contrasting black velvet notched lapel collar and matching turn up cuffs give this garment a sense of opulence as well as creating eye catching detailing. The rear of the coat features wonderfully flattering princess seaming to the waist as well as panelling to the skirt to give a pleated effect. Inside, the coat is lined in pink acetate with a winterised inner liner and has a National Recovery Board label as well as a maker’s label for Carl of New York.
