Original 1950s Grey And Red Check Swing Tie By Fidelity Towncraft De Luxe
This wonderful swing tie was made from a rayon in the 1940s. The tie has a red diamond pattern framed with a lilac frame on a white background decorated with a lilac crisscross pattern imitating a low thread count fabric at both the shell and tail of the tie. The main body of the tie which sits below the collar was fashioned from solid lilac coloured rayon. Sewn into the tail of the tie, there are retailer’s and maker’s labels for Towncraft De Luxe and Fidelity Cravat. A white rayon interlining is sewn into the tie along with an internal white stiffening cotton to help the shell hold its shape.
Width: 4 1/4”
Length: 51 1/2”
The tie is in good condition, but does have some super faint discolouration to the right hand side of the shield as well as a small nibble to close to the blade of the tie as pictured.
