Original 1950s 50s Vintage Volup Camel Cashmere Wool Cape Coat With Dark Brown Coney Fur Collar And Cuffs
This stunning cashmere wool coat in a camel colour was made in the early part of the 1950s. The coat is cut in a clutch style and is fastened with a single coney fur covered button under the fabulous dark brown coney fur trimmed collar. The same trim can be found on the amazing batwing style sleeves which extends from the cuff right up to the underarm. These sleeves are divided into three sections with a standard sleeve, a bat wing style cover over sleeve and a hole at the underarm suggesting it could possibly be worn as a cape (see separate picture above). Inside, the coat is lined with tan collar crepe and has a maker’s label for Tilly Heitner along with an American Garment Union label.
Due to the style, sizing is extremely flexible. Would say from a medium to the smaller end of XL.
Bust: up to 48”
Shoulders: approximately 18 1/2” edge to edge
Length: 43”
The coat is in very good condition, however there are two tiny nibble, one on the inside of the coat and the other close to the fur trim on the right sleeve. There is also a small barely noticeable stain under the waist pocket as well as to the back of the coat.
