Original 1940s 40s Vintage Yellow And Red Plaid Colour Block Jacket
This wonderful jacket was handmade in the 1940s from a wool plaid and a contrasting brown gabardine. The jacket is cut with an extending padded shoulder and is slightly nipped in at the waist. The open notched collar is one of several areas which integrate the contrasting colour block design alongside the brown gabardine sleeves and the tops of the waist and bust pockets. A single line of five large red buttons extend down the centre of the jacket. The back of the jacket and inside is made up completely of the brown gabardine.
Bust: 36”
Waist: 32”
Shoulders: 14 1/2” seam to seam
Length: 23 1/2”
The jacket is in very good condition with no faults noted when listing. It appears the sleeves may have been taken up and there is about 3” of sleeve hem to let down if desired.
