Original 1940s Vintage Volup Taupe Mauve Gabardine Swing Coat

This wonderful coat was made from a mauve grey gabardine in the late 1940s. It has been cut in a flattering swing shape with a large V-yolk at the back, which makes the fabric fall in beautiful swishy folds. The yolk is continued around the shoulders of the coat and highlighted with delicate stitch detailing. The large collar and turn up cuffs finish off this piece in classic 1940s style. Inside, the coat has a thick wool interfaced lining and it closes with three large buttons at the front.

The coat is in very good condition throughout with only some slight yellowing to the inside collar and the underarm lining. There are a few tiny marks as pictured and some slight puckering at the hem, which would benefit from professional pressing.
