A proper everyday classic, this one. Woven in a tight diamond check across red, tan, burgundy and cream, it's the sort of pattern that would have sat comfortably with just about any suit in a man's 1950s wardrobe. The rayon has a nice slubby texture to it rather than a slick sheen, and the tight, small-scale repeat gives it a fair amount of versatility despite the strong colour palette. Golden Shuttle Fabric, woven by McCurrach, was a well-regarded American textile house of the period, and the quality shows in how evenly the pattern has printed through.

Condition:

Very good condition. There's a small mark visible near the label on the reverse and an area of wear on the back of the tail as pictured. The pattern and colours remain strong throughout with no fraying to the tip.
