1950s Olive Tie with Candelabra Novelty Print – Styled for Brody's Men's Wear

There's a lovely bit of whimsy to this one. Set against an olive-charcoal ground woven all over with a fine geometric jacquard, a repeating motif of a white candelabra with three flickering orange flames marches down the blade at even intervals. It's a classic piece of 1950s novelty tie design, the kind sold through department store menswear counters when a touch of playful detail on an otherwise conservative tie was very much the fashion. The narrower cut and self-patterned ground are typical of the period, and the candelabra print has real charm without tipping into the overtly kitsch.

A charming, well-preserved example of 1950s novelty tailoring, ideal for the collector drawn to postwar American menswear with a bit of character and story behind the label.

Condition:

Fair condition. There's a few small marks as pictured, and the fabric shows the slight softening you'd expect from a tie of this age. No fraying or damage to the tip, and the candelabra motifs remain crisp and well defined throughout.
