Original 1940s 40s Volup Vintage Grey Suit
This fabulous suit was made from a grey wool tweed in the late 1940s. It was cut in a classic hourglass silhouette with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. Clever curved seam detailing further emphasises the shape of the jacket and creates functional pockets. These curve details are mirrored on the large notched collar. The jacket fastens with a single row of four fabric covered buttons. Inside, the jacket is lined in rust orange crepe, has the remnants of a National Recovery Board label and a maker’s label for Loeser’s of Brooklyn. The matching skirt is unlined and fastens with a metal side zipper and button closure above.
