Original 1940s 40s Vintage Rose Pink Skirt Suit
This stylish skirt suit was made from a rose pink gabardine in the late 1940s / early 1950s. The suit is designed with features typical of the decade with lightly padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The v-neckline is flanked with a notched collar which marks the starting point for a row of three mother of pearl effect buttons down the waist. To the rear of the jacket the waist is highlighted with a pleated downward pointing arrow seam with a small rear vent. This seam continues to the tiny functional slit pockets at the side of the jacket. Inside, the jacket is lined with blue acetate and has a maker’s label for Allers Berlin in Germany. The skirt boasts a long rear vent with inverted vertical pleats. It is half lined and fastens with a metal side zipper with top button.
Length: 32” plus 1 1/2” hem
The suit is in very good condition with no issues to note.
