Original 1940s 40s Vintage Chartreuse Mustard Wool Coat
This wonderful coat was made from a chartreuse mustard coloured wool in the 1940s. The strong padded shoulders and straight cut gives this coat a classic 1940s silhouette. A standard v-neckline is framed with a sharp notched lapel collar. A single row of brown flower shaped buttons stretches down to the waist. The coat also boasts functional waist pockets with flaps and highlighting surrounding stitching while the back has a rear vent. Inside, the coat is lined in yellow crepe.
Shoulders: 15 1/2” seam to seam
Bust: 42”
Length: 40”
The coat is in very good condition, with only some minor faults. There is a stain to the wearer’s left shoulder and two tiny pin holes to the inside of the neckline and to the sleeve. Inside, there is a tear to the crepe at the vent and some minor underarm staining as pictured.
