RESERVED FOR SENDI - Original 1940s 40s Vintage Mauve Grey Suit With Fabulous Button Details
RESERVED FOR SENDI - PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE
This stunning suit was made in the 1940s from a mauve grey wool gabardine. It displays a little more of a lilac grey in person than it shows in the images. The suit is cut in a classic 1940s silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The large notched lapel collar leads to a single fabric covered button fastening at the waist. Beautiful panelling at the waist further enhances the incredible tailoring of this suit and the back is adorned with the most stunning zigzag panelling. Two feature panels decorated with three fabric covered buttons each are positioned at the right bust and waist and add a fabulous detail to the suit. Inside, the suit is lined in pale pink crepe and has its original National Recovery Board label. The matching skirt as small vents at both sides and fastens with an original metal side zipper and button closure above.
Shoulders: 15” seam to seam
Length: 30” plus 2 1/2” hem
The suit is in good condition, however there are a few marks, predominantly to the skirt, as pictured. Some of the inner seam of the skirt have been overlooked at a later point to prevent fraying of the fabric.
