Original 1940s 40s Vintage Chocolate Brown Fedora Hat With Veil
This fabulous hat was made from chocolate brown felt in the 1940s. It is made in a fedora style but with a slightly higher crown and a downward sloping brim, very dramatic when worn. The crown is decorated with a brown satin and grosgrain band, which also adorns the top of the crown in a big bow. Delicate brown lace veiling drapes from the crown across the front of the hat.
As the hat perches on the head, it is suitable for a variety of head sizes but would work best around a size 22.
The hat is in very good condition, however there are a few marks to the underside of the brim, some untidy stitching bear the inner hat band and a few breaks in the veiling. This does not detract from this stunning piece but the veiling could equally be removed or pinned up.
