Original 1940s 40s Vintage Green And Red Plaid Cotton Dress With Pleated Skirt
This wonderful shirtwaister dress was made from cotton in the 1940s. The top half of the dress features an eye catching red, yellow and green plaid. The standard collar marks the beginning of five green coloured buttons which run down to the waist and are used as closures on top of the two chest pocket flaps. At the waist, there are a number of darts which create volume in the green coloured skirt. The fullness of the skirt is further highlighted with two triangular box pleats which have been backed with the contrasting plaid fabric found on the bodice. The dress closes with a metal side zipper.
