Original 1940s 40s Vintage Forest Green Gab Gabardine Skirt Suit With Petal Pocket Decoration
This wonderful skirt suit has been made from a forest green gabardine in the 1940s. The garment has the classic hourglass silhouette associated with the 1940s. This is achieved with a combination of strong padded shoulders and a cute nipped waist. A v-neckline and a sharp downward turned collar mark the beginning of a line of four black pressed glass buttons depicting sail boats. The area where the waist pockets would normally be located is embellished with triple petal decorative flaps which are adorned with single diamanté button each. The high waisted skirt closes with a metal zipper with a button above. Inside, the jacket is lined in green satin and is without a maker’s label.
Shoulders: 16 1/2” seam to seam
The suit is in good condition throughout, however there are a couple of loose threads as pictured.
