Original 1940s 40s Vintage Double Breasted Rich Black Velvet Princess Coat
This beautiful coat was made from a sumptuous black velvet in the 1940s. It was cut in a classic fit and flare silhouette with padded shoulders, a tightly nipped waist and a flared skirt. The double breasted faceted button arrangement draws attention to the tightly fitted waist, which helps to emphasise the princess cut silhouette. The large notched lapel and turn up cuffs finish off the coat in style. Inside, it is lined in black faille and has a maker’s label for Monarch as well as a retailer’s label for That Levitt Shopr and a National Recovery Board tag.
