Original 1940s 40s Vintage Crimson Red Crepe Dress With Gold Sequin Appliqué
This incredible dress was made from crimson red crepe in the 1940s. The high neckline emphasises the strong padded shoulders of the dress. Beautiful gathering on the wearer’s left shoulder provides the backdrop for the incredible flower shaped appliqué created from gold glass beads and metal sequins. The detailing on this is incredible, it even has beaded and wool yellow stamen inside. The waist is cinched in with a matching fabric belt adorned with a decorative red bow. The skirt is cut in a wrap over design with super flattering pleated draping to the wearer’s right hip and the bottoms of the three quarter length sleeves are slightly gathered on one side. Nine fabric covered buttons fasten the dress at the back of the neck and there is an original metal side zipper.
Bust: 34” (tight 36”)
The dress is in very good condition with only a few tiny repairs, marks and thread pulls as pictured. One of the buttons as slight wear to the fabric.
