Original 1940s 40s Vintage Cream Ladies Jacket Blazer By Meachams
This wonderful jacket was made from cream colour silk in the 1940s. The strong padded shoulders and shape defining nipped waist give this jacket that highly desirable 1940s silhouette. The garment’s v-neckline is framed beautifully with a large bold notched collar. A single button waist fastening helps to secure the asymmetric low portion of the jacket. The same buttons are used in pairs above the turn up triangular cuffs. The silhouette of the jacket is further highlighted with a pair of hip pockets on both sides of the waist which slant back to exaggerate the contours of the hips. Inside, the jacket is lined in taupe crepe and has a makers label for Meacham’s.

The jacket is in fair condition, with a number of barely noticeable stains. The fabric is fraying at the shoulders, the cuffs and the collar and there is some underarm staining to the lining as pictured.
