Original 1940s 40s Vintage Spring Yellow Double Breasted Summer Suit With Pleated Bustle
This wonderful summer suit was made in a bright spring yellow fabric in the 1940s. As you would expect from a summer suit, the garment has short sleeves as well as a collarless v-neckline with a scalloped lapel. It is cut in double breasted style with a slight nip to the waist to hint at an hourglass silhouette. The back of the jacket features an eye catching pleated bustle, whilst the back of the skirt has a large box vent. The skirt also features a metal side zipper with fabric covered top button.
Shoulders: 15 3/4” seam to seam
Length: 24” plus just under 1” hem
The skirt suit is in good condition, however there are a number of small marks across the garment as pictured as well as some discolouration to the fabric covered buttons. We believe this piece was altered slightly to make it larger and would benefit from moving the jacket buttons across by 1” which would give it better symmetry.
