Original 1940s 40s Vintage Brown Gabardine Belted Skirt Suit
This stunning suit was made from a brown gabardine in the 1940s. The notched collar with v-neckline marks the beginning of a single row of three buttons. A set of five matching buttons adorns each of the tops of the faux bust pockets. The jacket also features a shirred cinched waist which is highlighted beautifully with a matching fabric belt. Both the jacket and skirt have a rear vent to allow manoeuvrability. Inside, the jacket is lined in brown crepe and has a maker’s label for Elisberg Originals, as well as a retailer’s label for Natelsons Omaha and a label for the National Recovery Board.

This suit is in very good condition, however there is evidence of alterations to the lining, probably to remove the garments shoulder pads, a tiny hole on the sleeve and some tiny very faint marks as pictured. The waist shirring on the wearer’s right has come loose but this is concealed below the belt.
