Original 1940s 40s Vintage Brown Gabardine Faux Suede Princess Coat
This fantastic princess coat was made from a super soft brown gabardine, made to simulate suede, in the 1940. There is a horizontal stripe to the fabric which is achieved by a very subtle change in weave to the fabric Making it only apparent when the light hits it. As you would expect, this princess coat has the padded shoulders and a nipped waist that were so popular during this decade. The coat’s v-neckline is framed beautifully by a notched collar. It closes with a fabric covered press stud fastenings at the waist. The large patch pockets are highlighted with pretty pleats above them. The pleated theme is continued to the back of the coat with a plethora on box pleats to highlight the waist, which is further emphasised by wonderful geometric panelling to the back of the bodice. There is also a large belt loop at the back, which allows the waist to be further nipped in with a belt. Inside, the coat is lined in crepe, which has also been delicately pleated at the waist.
