RESERVED FOR MAGGIE - Original 1940s 40s Vintage Black Suit With Fabulous Arrow Details

This gorgeous suit was made from a black wool in the 1940s. It is cut in a classic hourglass silhouette with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The notched lapel collar leads to a single line of four buttons which fasten the jacket and matching buttons decorate the sleeve cuffs. The functional jacket pockets have been adorned with fabulous cross over arrow decoration. This arrow detailing is mirrored above the inverted pleat on the back of the skirt. The jacket hem has been stiffened to give a super flattering peplum effect to the jacket.  Inside, the jacket is lined in black crepe and the skirt closes with an original rear metal zipper.

Waist: 26” but believe button was moved and would look better if reinstated to 25”

Length: 31” plus 1 1/2” hem

The suit is in very good condition with only a repair to one of the stitched arrows and some slight fraying to the cuff as pictured. Part of the skirt hem is currently held up with safety pins and needs tacking down.
