This incredible suit was made from black wool in the 1940s and has a distinct femme fatale vibe. It is cut in a fabulous hourglass silhouette with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. A gorgeous peplum to the bottom of the jacket further emphasises the fitted waist. This peplum has been adorned with black soutache embroidery and beading both at the front and the back. The small shawl collar highlights the high neckline and leads to a single row of four fabric covered buttons which fasten the jacket. Inside, the jacket is unlined and does not have any maker’s labels. The matching skirt has been cut in a flattering longer length and fastens with an original metal side zipper and a hook and eye fastening above.
