Original 1940s 40s Vintage Black Crepe Evening Gown With Soutache Embroidered Lamé Bodice
This wonderful evening dress was made from a black crepe in the 1940s. The dress is cut with elegant double layered dolman sleeves which extend into pleating across the bodice. A complementing v-neckline is flanked with beautiful soutache embroidered foliage in a gold lamé thread. A single line of eighteen fabric covered buttons run down from the bottom of the neckline to the waist. The skirt is pleated at the sides and back and there is an integrated belt that ties at the back of the dress to guarantee that perfect fitted waist.
Bust: 44”
Waist: 36” but can be tied smaller
Hips: 46”-48”
Length: 54” plus 2 1/2” hem
The dress is in very good condition, however there are some small marks and repairs to the bodice which are easily concealed in the embroidery and a tiny hole to the back of the neckline as pictured.
