Original 1940s 40s Black Gab Gabardine Belted Princess Coat
This gorgeous coat will be a staple of your vintage wardrobe for years to come. It was made from black gabardine in the 1940s. The coat is cut in a classic princess style with a neatly nipped waist. This is accentuated through clever darting at the sides and back which gives volume to the bust and hips but cinches in the wearer’s waist. The large notched lapel collar, hip pockets and original fabric belt with a large gold tone buckle finish the coat off beautifully. Inside, the coat is lined in black crepe and has the makers label for Lansfield New York, a retailer’s label for Wolf & Dessauer as well as the National Recovery Board label.
Bust: 38”
Waist: 28” (belt has a fixed press stud closure at 33” but can easily be worn smaller by using the buckle in its intended way)
Shoulders: 15” seam to seam
Length: 43”
The coat is is excellent condition, however one of the belt loops has been replaced and a press stud was added to the belt.
