Original 1940s 40s Vintage Rust Putty Coloured Gabardine Skirt Suit

This glorious skirt suit was made from an unusual rust coloured gabardine in the 1940s. The suit oozes style with a number of stunning design features. A Puritan collar with a cute tie string decoration and padded shoulders give the top portion of the jacket an elegant look. At the end of the long sleeves are a set of large turn up cuffs with fabric covered button embellishments. This turn up detail has been mirrored at the bottom of the elongated peplum which has also been decorated with fabric covered buttons. A long metal zipper extends down the back of the jacket to the bottom of the spine. The skirt comes in an unusual long length and features wonderful shape giving darts from the waist to the hips. It closes with an original metal side zipper and button fastening.
