This amazing jacket was made from an avocado green knit in the 1930s. The jacket boasts the classic 1930s overhung puff shoulders with pleats and padded tips. At the neckline, the jacket combines an unusual small shaped standup collar with an almost collarless silhouette. This small collar is decorated with brown trim, which turns into two decorative brown arrows which extend down to the bodice and then point towards the sleeves. The points of the arrows have been highlighted using a contrasting golden spherical bead surround. A line of seven fabric covered buttons extend from the neckline to the waist where the line of the placket splits into a V and forms a peplum. The buttons are decorative rather than functional and the jacket fastens with concealed press studs behind the buttons. Matching buttons also decorate the sleeve cuffs. Inside, the garment is unlined and is without labels.

Shoulders: 14” seam to seam

Bust: 34” stretching to 36”

Waist: 26” stretching to 28”

Length: 25”

The jacket is in very good condition, however there is a repair to the wearer’s left hand side of the bodice as well as some minor thread pulls in places as pictured. The buttons are showing some signs of oxidisation.
