A beautifully considered piece of 1940s tailoring in the softest lilac, from London retailer Bourne & Hollingsworth. Fine pin-tucking runs the full length of the front, drawing the eye down from a neat top-stitched collar to a row of pearl-effect buttons. The short sleeves finish with a turned-back cuff, and the fabric has a light, fluid drape. A blouse that feels as considered in its detailing as anything you'd find in a tailored suit of the same era.
