This stunning coat was made from pumpkin orange wool in the 1940s. It was cut in a classic swing coat silhouette falling loosely from strongly padded shoulders. The huge notched lapel collar is super sharp and adorned with chocolate brown astrakhan. The astrakhan continues to line the entirety of the inside of the coat, except for the sleeves which are lined in orange crepe. There is also a maker's label for Bonwit Teller inside. Incredible scalloped seam detailing adorns each side of the front of the coat, adding a gorgeous detail. This coat would look stunning draped over the wearer’s shoulders as well as worn in the usual way.

The coat is externally in good condition with only a few barely noticeable marks. However the astrakhan lining and collar have significant wear including areas of bolding and splitting. The coat can be worn with care or could be relined to replace the fur.
