LAYAWAY PAYMENT 1 OF 2 - RESERVED FOR HOLLY - PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE
This stunning coat was made from a blue gabardine (with a hint of purple) in the late 1940s. The gabardine has a wonderful white atomic fleck in a cross hatched pattern which gives it added definition. The padded shoulders and belted waist (with the original fabric belt still present) give it a classic late 1940s hourglass silhouette. The collar and functional waist pockets are highlighted with a twisted cord trim and huge turn up cuffs finish off the coat in style. The coat closes with five buttons running from the collar to the waist and an additional metal zipper at hip level, which stops the coat blowing open in the wind! Inside, the coat is lined in an aubergine acetate. This coat is a wonderfully versatile autumn/spring weight garment, which could equally be worn unbelted as a swing coat, giving the wearer a multitude of style options.
Bust: 44” (tight 46”)
Shoulders: 18” from edges of shoulder pads
Length: 41 1/2” plus 4 1/2” hem
The coat is in very good condition with only some slight inconsistency in the colour of the lining and a small hole to the lining as pictured.
