Incredible Sexy Original 1930s 30s Vintage Striped Bias Cut Evening Gown With Fishtail Back
This incredible evening gown was made in the 1930s from a beautiful cream textured rayon that has been embroidered with stripes in black and cream. The fabric itself is pure luxury, the workmanship that must have gone into it is of a couture quality. The stripe of the fabric has been cleverly used to sculpt the wearer’s body, arranged in a slimming downward facing chevron pattern on the bodice which mirrors the gentle V neckline. At the waist, the fabric has been slightly gathered to add interest and the downward chevron pattern ends sharply at the hips. From this point onwards, the stripe have been turned to form upward facing chevrons throughout the loose floating skirt. The real star of the show however is the rear of the gown, which features a super sexy low cut neckline that runs in a large sharp V (followed by the stripes of the fabric of course) all the way down to the waist seam. The skirt features a large triangular panel of sumptuous black silk at the back, which creates a dramatic train. This is a gown that is sure to make an entrance whenever it is worn!
Please note that there are no openings on the gown, so please allow sufficient room in the below measurements to put it on. However due to the deep open back, there is some flexibility in the busy and waist measurements.
Bust: 36-42”
Waist: 26-32”
Hips: 40”
Length: 62” plus 1 1/4” hem
The dress is in very good condition with only a professional repair to the black satin near the hem (you wouldn’t know it’s there as it looks like a seam). There is also a tiny mark and two minuscule pinholes as pictured.
