Incredible Original Edwardian 1910s Antique White Lace Ethereal Summer Dress
This exquisite dress was made in the late 1910s / early 1920s from alternating panels of fins white voile and intricate handmade cotton lace. It was fashioned in the classic loose fitting silhouette of the period with gentle gathers on each side of the hip to add a little shape. The square neckline was trimmed with a decorative ecru edge which extend to the left side to hide the poppers that run all down the edge of the central lace panel to allow the dress to be easily put on. The sheer short sleeves have been trimmed with a scallop edged lace and the hem of the dress mirrors this beautiful detail. This dress has a wonderful ethereal quality and would be great for wearing on a hot summer’s day or even as a wedding dress.
